Old Main 2nd floor Assembly Hall decorated in the first college colors, silver and sage, for the 1895 graduation ceremony. There is an American Flag, The class motto is emblazoned on the back wall and reads, "In Struggle, Reward", a piano in the corner and a podium in the front of the room underneath the flag. The ceremony began at 10:30 in the morning, a half hour late, but the room was crowded. The first class consisted of three graduates: Charles Oma Rouse, Mercedes Anna Shibell, and Mary Flint Walker. |
