Far from the bright lights and fancy
casinos of Las Vegas, a modest gamblïng
hail southeast of Tucson beckons people
hungry for the one big hit.
Gamblers headed to the hall on the
Pascua-Yaqui Reaervation travel on the
freeway and take Valencia Road to the
east for a few miles. Then they turn south
on the two-lane road with dirt shoulders.
They pasa by the houses with blistered
paint and broken-down cars in the yards.
From a distance, the Arizona Club
looms bigger than anything else on the
The parking lot is full of old Chevys,
Fords and Chryslers. Inside the smoky
bingo hail, the first thing you notice is
the huge room full of chairs and hun-dreds
of people staring at bingo cards,
'daubers" (markers) in hand. Along a

y parecen felices en cl ambiente os-curo
y ruidoso.
